About Will

Will began his musical journey at the early age of four when he first picked up his grandfather’s old concertina accordion.  By the time he was five he was playing songs like Old Folks At Home, Aura Lee and Turkey In The Straw on the organ his grandmother had purchased.   He joined the elementary school choir and then became a member of the school concert band in grade five to play the Bb baritone horn in the bass clef.  During his college years he became educated in music theory while moving from the baritone to trombone, realizing there may be more call for trombone players in the world of jazz.

He bought his first guitar in 1976 and still plays it to this day.  In more recent years he has moved toward other stringed instruments.  Focusing on rhythm guitar, he has also become proficient at bass, fiddle and keyboard while maintaining and improving his vocal ability.  Though dabbling in some lead guitar parts, his strongest attributes are still on rhythm guitar and vocals.

As seen below, Will enjoys performing for country fairs, farmer’s markets, beer and wine tastings, coffee houses, family gatherings and other light-hearted venues.  As he exudes a keen interest in the history of American music, songs in his repertoire tend to be of love, passion and happy tunes to uplift the human spirit.
